Decent IM/Communications App

Since I most of my family in Japan uses LINE, I decided to install it on my spare iPhone that I use for traveling in Asia to avoid roaming charges (also because I can not obtain a tel number in Japan).

I find it works great for communicating with others as a voice call system and IM/Text system and even more pleased now that they have released a companion app for the Mac (which makes typing messages easier than on a phone).

The few con’s I have found with this app are:

1. voice calls drop if a regular cellular voice call is received (GSM phone)

2. unable to block or opt out of unwanted to notices for new stickers and other products for sale by LINE

3. No voicemail for missed calls from other LINE users

4. When incoming calls are received, the app does not automatically open (have to press on app icon) or answer the call when you unlock the screen and can cause the caller to hang up because of amount of time it takes to answer a call from a locked screen

Hopefully these will be things that LINE fixes in future releases.
